Rescue:
Pet Patrol received a call from a smaller cat rescue in a northern town. There are few resources
for rescueing cats off the street, low cost spay or neuter or like Cali, she has always been an
owned cat. Ever since a nice man adopted her as a kitten from a local shelter she has been his
constant companion. He lived on his own and she has been a wonderful part of his family. As
happens, life changes and the man met someone very special and eventually proposed. Soon
they would be sharing a home together and unfortunately Cali would have problems fitting in.
There were a few children, which she was not used to, one child was allergic, and there was also
one or two large dogs moving in as well. Wow! Quite the change in lifestyle. For Cali, used to a
quiet home, she showed her fear and uncertainty when the new family came to visit. It was “probably the hardest thing I have ever had to do” said the man when he relinquished Cali into Pet
Patrol care after much thought. He knew he would not be able to share the rest of her life
Personality:
Cali has a beautiful calico coat and is a sweet cat who definitely knows who “her people” are..
She is very loyal and will greet you when you get home, keep you company while you watch TV,
and lie beside you in bed for cuddles. What a nice little girl! While she does not yet love to be
picked up she enjoys keeping her person close . Cali has a laid-back and relaxed personality
and is accepting of new environments that are calm and easy going. She loves people who
appreciate her for the kind soul that she is. A bit chatty when she wants her treat or dinner, but
otherwise she purrs and chirps happily. Cali is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One
that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
