Rescue:
Pet Patrol received a message saying that a construction worker had found wee kittens in the
back of a pickup truck. It was wide open, there was no box, there was no food, there was no
shelter for them and no mother cat. The truck was parked on a construction site that was quite
desolate. So, it appears that someone had driven up there, knowing that there would be people arriving to start work early in the morning, and left the kittens there. Although they were safe
from predators on the ground to some degree, they were not safe from hawks. As well fox and
coyotes could have easily jumped up and snatched them. Luckily they were rescued and
brought into care. They were very tiny and just beginning to eat on their own. The rescuer’s
wife and family offered to foster them and care for them until they were big enough to be
adopted. A nursing momma cat would have benefited the babies, but there were none available in any rescue at that time. This family has done a tremendous job at helping these kittens
thrive and feel loved
Personality:
Doris is a spotted brown tabby because she has lovely orange spots throughout her striped
coat. She is feisty in a good way, brave and super playful. At this young kitten age, she is too
busy investigating everything and testing out toys to pay much attention to people until it is nap
time and then she is a full on lap cat. She loves to be pet and be cooed to, loving all the attention that people can give her until a ball rolls by or a bird lands on the window sill near her kitty
climber. Like her sister Darcy she is very outgoing and fearless when it comes to meeting
new people and friendly pets. Darcy is ready to be adopted into her forever home with a
playmate or her sister Darcy. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely
indoors
