Rescue:

Pet Patrol received a voice message from a woman quite concerned about a cat who had
been coming around her property regularly. He was actually seen early in the year when there
was still snow on the ground, below zero temperatures at night and high winds. No kitty should
be outside in winter weather. Now he was limping. It was obvious he had an injury on his front
foot and when he ran, he raised his back leg. We don’t know what had happened to him but he
really needed to be looked at by a vet. Figuring he was only about a year old and not neutered
he could have come from just about anywhere. Unaltered male cats can travel up to five miles
a day looking for a mate, but no one in their community knew where he originated from. Soon
in Pet Patrol care and within the same day off to the vet, his injuries were not that severe and
Opie readily settled into our care.

Personality:

Opie is one of the sweetest boys who loves to have you cradle his head in your hands and
scratch behind his ears at the same time. He closes his eyes and purrs deeply. Back massages, ear rubs, belly rubs…he loves it all. People are his most favourite thing. He is easy to
pick up and carry and quite content to be in your arms. Such a nice boy. Opie is ok with
another cat, older children and perhaps a laid back dog. He is playful and fun loving, likes his
catnip toys and is good with a nice sturdy scratching post. Opie is ready to be adopted into
his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors
