Rescue:
Pet Patrol received an email from a man who wanted to re home the two family pet cats. The
message read “Do you adopt cats? Two male cats looking to re home them due to looking after
my mother-in-law with dementia and have no time to fully give our cats the attention. We need to
get rid of them. They are both young. One is two years old and the other is about a year. Beautiful cats and they love each other, so separating them might be an issue. They love kids and love
to cuddle in bed with you.” As it happens they also have two special needs children in the home
and the father-in-law had recently passed. It was becoming difficult to juggle everything. Soon
Oreo and Cookie came into our care as happy healthy cats.
Personality:
Oreo and Cookie
started off a little shy when they arrived at the sanctuary as there are a lot of other cats here,
sharing beds, toys and the climbers. But within a few days Cookie was rolling onto his back
wanting belly rubs and Oreo was feeling more comfortable and wanting to be pet and shown the
love. They are wonderful family cats and love to be with people, will cuddle on your lap and curl
up with you at bedtime. They are social and like to greet people when they
arrive for visits. Toys of all kinds are exciting for them and they like to sit on the wide window sills
and gaze out the window watching the birds, squirrels and being the neighborhood watch cats.
Cookie is are ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him
into the family and keep him safely indoors.
