Rescue:
Pet Patrol received a call from a family who lived on a rural property near a small town. They
have several barn cats who over the years have been quite elusive to the humane trap, which
would take them into a clinic to be spayed. This would end the constant output of kittens
(four to six per litter and three or four breeding females all at once) as it was becoming very
concerning for them to rehome them all. The resources for low cost spay or neuter was limited
in their area and the closest was at least an hour’s drive away. They were willing to do it to
save more unwanted kittens from being born, but they were not able to get an appointment
confirmed. Hence, we had Sugar and her litter mates (Sully, Sampson, Scooter, Suki and
Stella) brought to Pet Patrol. This is a good family and when the kittens are born they are
gathered up and the mother cat follows them right into the house. The little ones are raised in
a family setting, handled and loved by everyone.
Personality:
Sugar is teeny tiny compared to the other kittens in her litter. She is well known for being the
snuggler and wants to be touching or cuddling with people all the time. She has a crazy
combo of fur, some long and some short but soft and shiny. She is happy to play with toys with
one other kitten, on her own or with her people. Often she is quite content to watch the shenanigans going on as her siblings wrestle and tumble together. She is small and perhaps feels
she would be bowled over by them. Sugar is a funny little kitten and loves water and will play in
it, sit in it and watch you in the tub from counter top. She is good with children and using the
cardboard scratching board. Sugar is ready to be adopted into her forever home with a playmate or sibling. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
