Rescue:

It is obvious from their photo that Namari and Nikoma are unique in their appearance. In
researching their curly ears we found they may be related – down the line somewhere – to the
American Curl breed, but that can’t be determined without official authorization. More than
likely it is just a fluke as they were discovered on a beef farm where there were just too many
cats. They were amongst many, many felines that the woman living on the property was quite
hesitant to part with, especially these two. Local cat rescue organizations had tried
over the years to help her rehome the cats and have the adults altered, at the least, but there
were many disappointing trips out there. Now that the woman is elderly and her health failing
the family has stepped in and the cats are being rescued. Namari and Nikoma and seven
other kittens came into Pet Patrol care before the weather became unbearable.

Personality:

These siblings can often be found cuddled up together in a ball and grooming each other,
purring happily and then settling in for a nice snooze. They love to chase each other all around
the house like they’re in an Indy 500 race, and stopping to wrestle once in a while. Namari is
crazy over the laser light, and loves the Cat Dancer wire toy. Nikoma is a big fan of the spring
toys or bouncing plastic balls. They often lay in the big front window and watch all the wildlife
outside or people going by. Both enjoy head scratches; belly rubs and they love massages. Nikoma loves to curl up on a lap for some good cuddles.
Namari will call out to her brother if she cannot find him and he will come running – so cute.
Both get along well in their foster home with the resident cats, they were unsure of the dog at
first, but seem to have accepted him into their space. Namari and Nikoma are ready to be
adopted together into their forever home. One that is adult only and where they will be welcomed into the family and kept safely indoors.
