Rescue:

Poor Simon. His world has been turned upside down. He was living happily with his person
and another cat, life was good, serene and not stressful at all. Although he was a little unsure
of change, he only took a bit of time to adjust and then was ok. When family and friends came
to visit he would greet them and relax in the room, enjoying their company. Then one day
everything changed without notice and Simon was left on his own. His owner had passed
away and he never had a chance to say goodbye, his house mate kitty was gone too, as he
was more outgoing (he went to live with another family member). But no one wanted Simon.
Not able to find a cat rescue to take him in (because they were very full) he ended up at the
city shelter. He was so over stimulated there and was always found hiding in a corner, he
showed his displeasure and didn’t want anyone touching him. Simon’s life had been so disrupted that he didn’t know how to handle it. Nothing was familiar and he was forced to be
caged beside hundreds of other pets vying for adoption. Knowing that one of our volunteers
has as soft spot for orange cats and that underneath they are all passive and loving cats, we
took this cute boy into our care. He is a very grateful cat for that.

Personality:

Simon’s personality has shined here. He is a much different cat here than when he was at the
city shelter, and he would do even better being in a home again. He likes the love and attention from people and is patient with the other cats. He is so silly when given a catnip toy,
acting like a kitten, and likes interactive toys with his people like the wand toy or tossing the
plastic springs for him to chase. He is interested in what is going on outside the sanctuary,
viewing it all from the comfort of a cat bed by the window. Simon is ready to be adopted into
his forever home. One that is calm, adult only and where he will be welcomed into the family
and kept safely indoors.
