Rescue:
Lonesome Joe showed up in the summer time on a property that is just off a main road. The
entire season had been very hot and dry, drought conditions were impairing water sources
and there was little relief for any animals outside. This boy was very thin when he arrived and
had a lot of scratches and wounds on his face and neck. He was so grateful to be invited into
the shop where the cement floor gave him come comfort from the scorching heat outside and
the food and water was much needed. In the coming days, his wounds were treated at the vet
clinic, he recovered extremely well and has continued to thrive since then. It is quite a mystery
as to where he originally came from, but he was found in an area where people tend to abandon cats, thinking that they would be looked after by the local people. As this happens often,
the woman who rescued Lonesome Joe and many others, cares for them until a rescue
organization is called in to help. Soon he was in Pet Patrol care.
Personality:
Lonesome Joe is named such because he was kept separate from the other felines in his
rescue home and was desperately lonely for their companionship and that of his caregivers.
He is such a sweet boy and wants nothing more than to be pet, cuddled and cooed to. He is
much loved in the Pet Patrol sanctuary and has done extremely well with the other cats. It has
been fun watching him adapt to the sanctuary playroom, to toys and climbers. He likes gazing
out the window, stretching out on the wide window sills and watching the birds and traffic go
by. He’s very affectionate and will approach people for petting and for scratches. Lonesome
Joe is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family
and keep him safely indoors.
