Rescue:
Popcorn was the first of the two kittens to be found way out of town on a turkey farm. Behind
their house are abandoned railway tracks that are now used as a trail by a lot of animals
including coyote, fox, wild turkey and rabbits and, unfortunately, kittens once in a while. Being
friends with one of our main volunteers they contacted her for help with this little guy. At first,
they saw two kittens, but only found Popcorn on his own when they went out to rescue him.
Our volunteer drove over an hour to retrieve Popcorn and bring him into Pet Patrol care before
the couple went on holidays for three days. Sure enough as they were pulling out of the driveway, loaded with all their camping gear, the other kitten appeared. They could not stop at this
point as they were on a time line, but they had left out several bowls of food for the strays that
arrive daily and knew he would find shelter in the insulated cat houses. As soon as they arrived home they started looking for little Peanut and quickly found him in the cat shelter, safe
and sound.
Personality:
Popcorn is very sweet and does enjoy the company of his brother Peanut. They have had an
adventure together and survived the wilds. They like to cuddle up together and groom each
other, playing games of Tag and Chase, also instigating WWF (World Wresting Feline) competitions. Such sweet cats in temperament though and welcoming to pets and a nice long lap
cat nap. Looking at the world from the top of the cat tree, both inside and through the front
window outside the house, entertains them and piques their curiosity. I would be nice for these
boys to be adopted together if possible. They are ready to be adopted into their forever
home. One that will welcome them into the family and keep them safely indoors.
