Rescue:

Pet Patrol received a phone call from the father of Maddie’s owner. Apparently his son and
daughter-in-law had fallen on hard times and were living at the poverty level. They were not
living in a very good environment and in a small apartment building you can hear things
through walls, etc. but they were targeted as a couple. Vandalism ensued as well as threats.
Not feeling safe in their home and now, and as the wife is in the hospital they did not want to
leave the cat alone in the apartment. And at this time they could no longer afford to keep her.
Poor kitty had not been seen by the vet since they adopted her two years ago. Shortly after that
conversation our volunteer spoke to the son and arrangements were made to pick up Maddie.
She was described as a friendly, Indoor only cat who has been good company and a great
pet. It was with a heavy heart that they had to rehome her.

Personality:

Maddie is a sweetheart. She’s kind, friendly and affectionate. She would climb up on the
gentleman’s bed and sleep with him at night or curl up with him as they watch TV in the evenings. She has been happy as an indoor cat and loves to have her toys. She likes the laser
pen light and anything that dangles or drags for her to chase. Playing interactively with her
people is always exciting for her. Maddie is such good company and just a nice wonderful cat
for any home. She is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her
into the family and keep her safely indoors.
