Rescue:
When you live in a rural area and there are no low cost spay neuter programs close to you, no
city shelters and very few vets that support controlling the over population of cats, you quickly
become over populated. A couple who live on a farm property that also houses a machine
shop found themselves with ten females and three males, all unaltered. As a result, kittens
were born twice and sometimes three times a year, new dependents without homes. They did
their best to find families for them, but when you run out of friends and coworkers then you
reach out to cat rescue organizations and soon they found Pet Patrol. We appreciated the
fact that their cats were housed in the work shop, which was clean and dry, they were fed well
and had fresh water and comfy beds. The kittens were brought in the house when they were
born, with their mom, and all socialized and ready for adoption. Through Pet Patrol we have
taken almost twenty kittens from them, and little Fiddle is the last litter to be born on the property.
All the adults have now been spayed or neutered and their colony is now under control.
Personality:
Fiddle is a very sweet tabby girl with the softest squeak. She seems shy at first, but don’t let
that fool you, she is often just waiting for a good opportunity to ambush the other kittens. She is
a bit more cautious with strangers but warms up very quickly and is not too shy to ask for
attention around nap time. She loves gentle head scratches and back rubs, is calm, friendly
and playful, everything you want in a kitten. This sweet little one is ready to be adopted into a
forever home with a sibling or playmate. One that will welcome her into the family and keep
her safely indoors.
