Rescue:
When you live in a rural area and there are no low cost spay neuter programs close to you, no
city shelters and very few vets that support controlling the over population of cats, you quickly
become over populated. A couple who live on a farm property that also houses a machine
shop found themselves with ten females and three males, all unaltered. As a result, kittens
were born twice and sometimes three times a year, new dependents without homes. They did
their best to find families for them, but when you run out of friends and coworkers then you
reach out to cat rescue organizations and soon they found Pet Patrol. We appreciated the
fact that their cats were housed in the work shop, which was clean and dry, they were fed well
and had fresh water and comfy beds. The kittens were brought in the house when they were
born, with their mom, and all socialized and ready for adoption. Through Pet Patrol we have
taken almost twenty kittens from them, and little Fiji is the last litter to be born on the property.
All the adults have now been spayed or neutered and their colony is now under control.
Personality:
Fiji is a very sweet and loving kitten who does not like to be part of the crowd. She would
much rather have a quiet home with extra love, but with a playmate or sibling to keep her company.
Once she gets acquainted with the routine, she is quite outgoing and shows her kitten
playfulness and asks for attention and pets. She loves to cuddle with her person and is currently
working on her lady like meow and has made good progress into the soft chirp stage,
which she uses often to get more pets. Fiji is ready to be adopted into her forever home with a
sibling or playmate. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors
