Rescue:
Esmeralda appeared on a rural property close to a small village. The couple have lived there
for many years and have never had cats show up before. Early in the spring they found a
friendly mother cat and her litter of kittens in the window well which looks into their basement
shop. Soon they were rescued, with the Dad cat, and brought into Pet Patrol care for medical
care and adoption. Now, just a few months later Esmeralda appeared on their back deck,
meowing at them and wanting attention and affection. They immediately started feeding her
and then checked her belly. Yup, she was nursing kittens, but they were nowhere in sight, and
after eating she would trot back into the woods. Now it was a waiting game and eventually
she brought her kittens (Ellington, Elyse, Elija and Ellis) to the feeding station and window well
as it was safe, and the kittens were not able to roam around without her in attendance. Soon,
they too were brought into Pet Patrol for care and have done very well.
Personality:
Ellington is a very nice looking boy and cute too. He, like all kittens, and his siblings are very
playful and active. He loves to run though the kitty tunnel and up the cat tree, viewing the room
from the top perch. Often when tuckered out he will cuddle up with his person or in a puddle of
fur and purr in the soft kitty bed. He is very social and friendly with people and doesn’t mind
being picked up and carried. He purrs immediately when you start to pet him and comes
running to you when you come home. Ellington is ready to be adopted into his forever home
with a sibling or playmate. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely
indoors.
