Rescue:
Pet Patrol’s sanctuary is in a community where people do things the old fashioned way. Many
do not have cars or Hydro to parts of their property and they live a rural life. About a year ago
Pet Patrol was at the local small business and the property owner mentioned he had found five
kittens in his garden. They brought them into safety and were raising them. Pet Patrol was
finally able to convince him to have them spayed and neutered, so they could be healthy cats
living on his small hobby farm, and we were able to have them looked after. Then one day,
while stopping at the shop they introduced our volunteer to little Eli. They said he just showed
up one day, out of the blue, skittering around the property looking for some place to hide. The
children were able to catch up to him, and he was soon brought into safety. Over time he
became used to cuddles and being picked up. Thinking it not wise to take on the responsibility of yet another cat, Eli was brought to the sanctuary to complete his socialization, tend to any
health needs and to find a forever home. .
Personality:
Introducing Eli! He is a very sweet and gentle little guy who has enjoyed the company of his foster
siblings and the foster home’s resident pets. He’s learning how to play, wrestle and race. He
loves the kitty tunnel to hide in and jump out of, surprising anyone (two legged or four) who
happens to walk by. He is quite a character and is into everything his siblings have discovered. He is the usual kitten – play, play, play, sleep and then start the cycle again. When it is
nap time, you can usually find him curled up in the cat tree content to watch everything going
on in the house, and gazing out the window at the world until he nods off. Eli is ready to be
adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely
indoors.
