Rescue:
The sanctuary is located outside the city limits, surrounded by farms and communities that do
things the old fashioned way. We received a phone call about a family who had too many
kittens and “was wondering if we wanted some”. Knowing that they were healthy cats, eating
well, and no parasites they would be a welcome addition to the sanctuary. Our volunteer arrived at the farm, the family was waiting for her with the family dog, too. Each child stood
proudly holding ontch. The biggest orange kitten got away but the one girl followed him into the
barn and brought him back. They were easy to put into the carrier, and once they arrived at
the sanctuary were curious although little concerned. In no time we were able to pick them up
and cradle them in our arms as the children had done with them since birth.
Personality:
Nyla is a very special cat, who loves people and is full of life. She is trusting, extroverted and
incredibly curious. She loves to explore and play, but her favorite activity is definitely cuddle time.
She loves being held like a teddy bear in your arms and will never miss the chance to purr. Her
friendly nature extends to other cats and even children as she is extremely docile and friendly
and doesn’t get scared from loud noises, sudden movements or new and weird objects. She
adapts to new environments, pets and people very quickly. She’s truly a Labrador-version of
cats and can win over anyone. Being a free spirit however, also means she doesn’t like to be
alone or confined for long periods of time, and therefore is looking for a family who can keep
her company either by not being away from home all day or having other pets. This pretty girl
is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and
keep her safely indoors.
