Rescue:

Pet Patrol received a call from an officer at PAWS (Provincial Animal Welfare Service). There
was a home in a near by village where an elderly woman lived alone and had way too many
cats in her house. Apparently a family member had moved in with her for some time, during
Covid when so many people could not afford to live independently, and brought along her two
cats. A male and a female, who were not altered and therefore nature took it’s course and
kittens were born. As time went on there were more kittens born and the daughter moved out,
leaving her mother with the cats and no resources to re home them. The customary place to
call was the local city shelter, but they were over loaded as well and couldn’t take any more in.
The woman did not know what to do, loved the cats and did not want to see any harm come to
them, but she was in a crisis situation. A neighbor contacted PAWS for her and soon the
process of finding cat rescues and shelters for the cats begun. By the time Pet Patrol as
called just Felicia needed to be rescued as no one wanted her because of her frosted eye.
She proved to be a wonderful cat and we are glad she came to us.

Personality:

Felicia is very affectionate and out going. She is not shy in the least and not bothersome
either in her want for attention. She will gladly give her people affectionate head butts, she
purrs deeply and loudly, and being on someone’s lap is luxury for her. Felicia is great with
other cats, as that is the life style she lead before but is fine on her own as well. This pretty
Torti has been a joy to watch as she explores all the toys and cat trees in the sanctuary. She
has had so much fun checking everything out and seeing what is going on outside from the
safely of the window sill. Felicia is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will
welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
