Rescue:

Pet Patrol received a desperate message from one of our volunteers. “”Today I was out for a
bike ride with a friend and this little kitten came running out of the ditch towards me. She was
crying and was very frightened, but she was also limping and holding up her back leg. I think
it is broken. My friend held onto her while I scoured the ditch and a wide swath of the area
looking for other kittens. There were none. I made an appointment with my vet and they took
an x-ray, sure enough her femur is badly broken and amputation is the only thing that can be
done, she is so small that a plate and pins are not possible.” Can I bring her to you in the
morning? She is fed and sleeping peacefully right now in my spare room” Next morning little
Emmy arrived at the sanctuary and was then whisked off to one of our vets so that her surgery
would not be delayed. Since then Emmy has been much happier and is a healthy little cat.

Personality:

Emmie is a petite, lovable and energetic kitten who loves everyone. His foster says: “We are
not sure if she knows she’s a torti because she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body.” She is
happy go lucky and likes to run around, play with toys and gets the zoomies but is also a sweetheart and likes to be pet and held the most (and she sleeps with her tongue sticking out). This
pretty tripod is friendly with other cats and small animals, not a fan of dogs but could potentially
be introduced to a gentle, laid back one over time. Emmie is ready to be adopted into her
forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her
safely indoors.
