Rescue:

One of Pet Patrol’s volunteers lives in a rural village surrounded by farmland. During the fall
and spring she sees a lot of new kitties showing up either from being dropped off or barn cats
looking for food. She has a feeding station set up and a heated water bowl for the cold
months. One morning as she went outside a little black streak ran out of the feeding station
shelter. Hmmm…a new one. That night it returned and she could then see it was a little kitten!
The weather was getting very cold, snow was in the forecast and although the kitten wouldn’t
come too close he did meow at her. She put out canned food for the kitten to keep it coming
in and the next day a humane trap was put out and the kitten went right in!! Yay! That night it
was going to be -10 so his rescue was good timing. She named him Packer and he was so
happy to be inside with a warm bed to curl up in. It took him a few days to relax and trust his
rescuer but then he turned into a little snuggle bug.

Personality:

Packer is a sturdy boy with plush fur and a sweet face. He loves to play with all the toys and
keeps himself busy chasing balls, diving into his tunnel and scaling the cat tree. He’s a confident little guy and loves to explore his surroundings and has no fear. He had probably dealt
with some scary things while outside so he is quite confident now. Packer doesn’t mind playing with the other cats in his foster home, and there is a family dog there as well who lets him
pounce on his fun wagging tail, but he is ok on his own as well. Packer is ready to be adopted
into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
