Rescue:
There was a colony of cats who were found behind a manufacturing building in town. The
colony had been cared for there by the staff, feeding them daily and even providing insulated
cat houses for them. The nice thing was they were all friendly, but the sad thing was is the
colony was growing. A company memo was sent out, saying that they had consulted with the
city shelter who said to stop feeding the cats. That is sad and wrong. Rescuing them is the
answer. Coyotes are running through the area often and sometimes within 10 feet of our volunteers. They definitely had caused many of the cats to disappear. The colony cats names all
start with the letter K, and this includes Kris. Our volunteers and the woman who was
feeding the cats were braving the elements daily to ensure this colony was looked after and
brought into care.
Personality:
Kris is the quintessential boy cat who loves his wet treats, the elusive laser pen and warm
snuggles. Head and chin scratches will get him purring in seconds and he’ll encourage you to
continue by rolling over for belly rubs. Kris wants to know what his people are up to and loves
getting involved in household activities. He follows his people around the house, in case they
need help, and to give his sniff of approval. He had made new friends at his foster family’s
house, introduced himself to the resident felines by rolling over and showing his belly, and
appreciating the cat company! This sweet boy has perfected the art of loafing on any soft
surface, warm laundry pile, carpet or cushion he can find. He doesn’t mind being picked up,
and is a professional lap-sitter and will even allows regular paw-massages, if treats are involved! Kris is ready to be adopted into his forever home, one that will give him lots of love, a
furry companion, some patience and will keep him safely indoors.
