Rescue:

A woman who knows one of Pet Patrol’s volunteers lives in a rural village surrounded by
farm land. During the spring and fall she sees a lot of new kitties showing up either from
being dropped off or barn cats looking for food. She has a feeding station set up and a
heated water bowl for the cold months. One morning as she went outside a little orange kitty introduced himself at the feeding station shelter. Hmmm…a new one. That night
he returned and she knew then that he didn’t have a home to go to. The weather was
getting very cold, snow was in the forecast and although the kitten wouldn’t come too close
he did meow at her. This was his way of asking for help. She put out canned food in
hopes that the cat would come closer and sure enough he did. One touch and he was
purring and kneading the floor. That night it was going to be -10 degrees so his rescue
was good timing and he was very grateful for the warm bed and being indoors. She
named him Tony.

Personality:

Such a sweet cat! Tony has made himself completely at home at the sanctuary in a very
short period of time. He is fine with the multitude of cats here and new people coming to
visit or volunteer. Toys have been a big hit and it seems that he is quite familiar with them,
so he may have been abandoned from his original home. Tony is good with other cats that
are as sweet and friendly as he is. Those that are more dominant seem to pick on him,
which is not fair. He is quite comfortable being picked up and carried around in your arms,
is a cuddle bug and appreciates his people. Tony is ready to be adopted into his forever
home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
