Rescue:

When Tanner arrived at the sanctuary, he had been rescued quite a few weeks before, and
kept in a cage. A woman, who for years, has fed the cats at the local cattle auction noticed
him at her feeding station during the hot days of summer. Tanner was quite wary of any
sudden movements and it took a while for her to rescue him and finally bring him indoors.
We don’t know where he came from originally but it’s not uncommon for cats from farms to
end up on hay wagons or on cattle/horse trailers and be transported long distances from
their original home. In order to keep him safe the woman had been housing him in a small
cage at a temporary foster home where he was unsure of the many dogs in the home and
their activity level and barking. Eventually he was brought into Pet Patrol care and is now
looking at a better life.

Personality:

Tanner has learned from the other cats at the sanctuary, and being encouraged with treats,
that people are pretty good, gentle and provide love and nurturing. He is a tall and long cat
who has progressed very nicely in his socializing and is happy to be safely inside. One
thing he will do, to receive affection is to rub up against your legs, with a bit of a hop. Because he is a good sized cat, he definitely gets your attention. Tanner can be found
amongst the other cats, playing with toys, lounging in the sunny windows and appreciating
a head scratch and ear rub. He is ready to be adopted into a calm and easy going forever
home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
