Rescue:
A woman notified Pet Patrol about a very friendly cat who had found her way to their barn.
They are self described as dog people but to us that just means that they are pet people. Not
having a lot of knowledge about cats they did realize that she was quite pregnant and needed
a safe place to have her kittens. Luckily they brought her into the house where she made
herself at home and didn’t seem bothered by the resident dogs. Millie gave birth to three
kittens, but unfortunately she had them in the bath tub and only one survived. Little M was quite
a fighter and was clinging to her mom when they discovered them in the morning. The family
have quite enjoyed having the cats in the house, but weren’t prepared to take them on permanently and called around to different rescues and city shelters. But everyone was full. They
drove almost an hour and a half to bring the cats to Pet Patrol care where they have settled
nicely into a foster home. Millie is a very attentive mama and M is just adorable.
Personality:
Millie is a very entertaining cat. She explores all through the house, looking for her foster humans and will vocalize frequently to find anyone who will pay attention to her. When she first came to her foster home, she was anxious but also craved the attention from the people in the house. After two weeks, she began to understand that she is in a safe place where she will be cared for and loved. Millie looks for attention, head scratches and does enjoy time on your lap. She has been introduced to other cats in the house (another mother and kittens and the senior resident cat). She has become comfortable with the senior cat, mainly because he is truly the dominate king of the house and she respects that. Millie will do well in a house where she is the only pet, where she has the ability to move throughout the space and with one or two people without the competition of other animals. Millie is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
