Rescue:
Poor Shelby! Hanging on for dear life for more than an hour. Pet Patrol received a concerned
call from one of the staff at a pet food stores that supports us. They said that there was a kitten
stuck in the wheel well of someone’s truck. The man and his son had already driven an hour
straight and had stopped in the plaza where the store is located. They could hear a strange
noise, but thought it was just something wrong with the engine until they actually stopped. The
staff put a can of food out underneath the truck, and Shelby jumped down then and started
eating until she got startled, and she ran between the buildings. The staff was in hot pursuit
and was careful not to scare her, but were easily able to pick her up and bring her into the
store safely. From there one of Pet Patrol‘s volunteers arrived to take this very sweet, and
gentle kitten into our care
Personality:
Despite how Shelby was found, she is a friendly, relaxed, and happy girl. She prefers the
company of her foster humans rather than her foster siblings, be it playtime, cuddles, pets, or
naps (even though she gets along well with the other kitties) but in time that can change. She’s
extremely observant and enjoys watching what’s going on with everyone else. She’s also
quiet… until you get her purring. If you make eye contact, her engine starts revving and that’s
her way of saying “give me pets forever please!” Shelby loves playing with toy mice and
feathers, then sleeping in a giant bed or blanket nest. The bigger, the better! This pretty kitty
would love a forever home where she can be your main focus and cuddle buddy. She is ready
to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her
safely indoors
