Rescue:

A woman who lives in a very small village not too far from the sanctuary has occasionally
found stray cats at her back door. Henry was the first to arrive, with an orange and white cat. Soon after a mother cat with three teens in
tow, came out of the cornfield. They were seeking food and shelter, anything, as they ate
ravenously when the food was put down for them. The female cat was not showing her friendly
side at the time, but the three teens immediately came for pets and purrs when their bellies
were full. Henry is thought to the dad to all of them. This woman helps the cats along their way by making the window well that looks into
her husbands shop equipped with a heat lamp and dry bedding. Usually the lost cats migrate
to that spot. A friend of hers has a nice country property and will take the mom and her feline
family but they should be fixed first. We don’t need to create another colony!

Personality:

Henry has settled into the sanctuary with the other cats well. It took a bit of time, but being a
colony cat he soon caught onto the routine, volunteers coming and going and new toys. He
loves to sit on the window sill and watch the birds and traffic outside, still adjusting to a completely indoor life he would do well if his new home had a catio for him, but not necessary. Still
exploring the cat trees, kitty tunnels and bouncy balls, he was unsure of their purpose before
but now confident in chasing the plastic springs etc. Henry is easy to pick up and be carried
around, he loves a soft bed and someone to give him pets and scritches under the chin.
Henry is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family
and keep him safely indoors.
