Rescue:
“You need to contact Jay,” the messages kept coming across social media, directed at a man who
had found a sweet little cat in a parking lot. This was Olive, a lovely but hungry cat, asking for help.
Unsure of what to do, he posted about her, and soon, he was encouraged to reach out to Jay, a
rescuer in a nearby small town. By the time he connected with Jay, it was already 10 p.m., but they
immediately advised him to bring Olive into his home for safety, not wanting her to be left
vulnerable overnight. The next morning, Jay contacted and arranged to transfer Olive to their care.
Within a few days, Olive found her way to Pet Patrol, as the smaller rescue was at full capacity.
During that time, every effort was made to search for Olive’s owners—social media posts, lost cat
notices, and local checks—but no one came forward to claim her.
Personality:
Olive is a striking calico kitty with a personality as unique as her beautiful coat. Having spent the
winter in Pet Patrol’s care, we were concerned that Olive would be happiest on a hobby farm,
where she can enjoy her independence. However, her quiet, gentle nature that always shone
through revealed an affection kitty who asked for pets and scratches. It took a while, but now she
greets us with tiny meows and you can’t resist that pretty face. She gets along wonderfully with
other cats an often you’ll find her curled up in a cozy pile of fur and purrs with her feline friends.
Olive has a playful side too. She enjoys chasing toys and climbing cat trees, taking in her
surroundings from a high perch. Though Olive isn’t suited for an active family or with children in the
home, she’s a good girl who would thrive in a calm and nurturing environment. Olive is ready to be
adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely
indoors.
