Rescue:
Casia (pronounced Kahseeah, meaning vigilant) was well known to a chicken farm and the
people that worked there. She would show up every year to have a litter of kittens in some very
interesting places. Her first litter of kittens were born in the wall of the barn, five feet down. Next
time, she had them inside the base of a huge fountain that was stored in the shop and very
cramped and dirty inside. In both instances, Casia disappeared for the year once her kittens were
found. Now it’s 2024 and there she was again, this time behind the chicken barn, buried deep
under storage boxes. Everyone was safely rescued and now they’re doing well in our care.
Personality:
Casia has made amazing strides since moving in with her foster family, blossoming from a nervous,
hissy girl to a talkative, affectionate companion. Now, with the sweetest, softest meow, she actively
seeks out attention, often jumping up to gently butt her head into your hand. Casia loves to rub
against you when she gets the chance and is happiest napping nearby, content with her human’s
company. This playful girl has a huge love for toys, especially anything with ribbons or bells—
though plush toys don’t stand a chance with her! She’s a bit cautious with fast movements and isn’t
quite sure about being held yet, but give her playtime and some loving pets, and she’s in heaven.
Casia also does wonderfully with other cats, especially her buddy Kiki, and they make a sweet,
cozy pair if adopted together. Because she’s still startled by sudden movements, Casia would thrive
best in a calm, adultonly home where she can continue to feel safe and blossom even more. With
her gentle charm and playful spirit, she’s ready to bring joy and warmth to a loving forever family
one that will keep her safely indoors.
