Rescue:
A kind woman had been trying to rescue a pretty little cat (Dutchess) who was quite friendly but
living on the streets. The poor cat seemed frightened, as one might expect, wandering from place
to place with an empty belly, searching for food. Each day, she dodged traffic and tried to avoid
becoming prey. To make matters more urgent, she was also pregnant. The rescuers were
determined to bring her indoors before she gave birth. The trap was set— the weather was just
right, and the food was tempting. Finally, she went inside. The trap was checked every 15 minutes,
and to their surprise, she was in there, safe and sound, but giving birth. Four adorable little kittens
were born, and the entire family was immediately brought into a warm, loving home. They were
cared for by a kind family until they were ready for Pet Patrol. This little feline family is so lucky they
weren’t born under a deck, in a dusty shed, or even just beneath the canopy of some shrubs.
Personality:
Dutchess is a good cat and easy to love. Whatever she has endured in her past, she has left it
behind and has looked forward to the love of people and a safe environment. She has fit into living
at the sanctuary very easily, and actually at one point took on two orphaned kittens to help them
survive. It’s been wonderful to watch her become a playful and happygolucky cat again. She
thoroughly enjoys playing with toys, chasing after balls and dangling strings. Dutchess also relaxes
by gazing out the window at the changing weather, knowing she is now living the good indoor life.
Duchess is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family
and keep her safely indoors.
