Rescue:

Tonka was found all by himself on the back porch of a country home. Around them are open fields,
some with corn, and some with alfalfa. It always is a fear when the machines go through to cut
down the crop that there will be kittens too terrified to move. Somehow, this wee guy managed to
find the farmhouse and sat outside their door crying. As soon as he was picked up, he instantly
purred and they brought him inside. Knowing they couldn’t keep another cat, they called a cat
rescue organization, who referred them to Pet Patrol. Tyko, meanwhile, had been found outside of
an all purpose farming store. One woman who is known to Pet Patrol for helping previous rescues
was shopping in the store and the staff member mentioned this little black kitty running underneath
the skids at the side of the parking lot. All that was around this area was storage, fields, parking lot
and a busy road. Next door was waste management. She put in place a humane trap and Tyko was
so hungry he went right in after the canned food. Both these boys ended up in the same foster
home and in almost no time became the best of friends.

Personality:

Meet Tonka and Tyko, two sweet and playful foster brothers who quickly made themselves at home in
their foster family. Within just a few days, these affectionate boys were purring, rolling over for belly
rubs, and showing off their lovable personalities. Tonka is the leader of the duo, bravely exploring
new spaces, meeting the resident dog and kitties, and making it clear he’s ready for fun. Tyko
happily follows his foster brother’s lead, quickly realizing that the resident dog is harmless and just part of
the family. These two love tearing through the house at top speed, chasing each other, and then
collapsing into a wrestling match. Tonka’s favorite toys are anything that bounces—he’s always
chasing balls around the room—while Tyko adores running through crinkle tunnels, creating
endless entertainment. With their playful energy and sweet nature, Tonka and Tyko would make a
wonderful addition to any loving home. This dynamic duo is ready to find their forever family who
will welcome them with open arms and keep them safely indoors.
