Rescue:
A volunteer for Pet Patrol lived in a small rural village surrounded by farms so there were a lot
of new cats showing up quite frequently. She has a feeding station on her back deck for any cat that
wants food and that is how she came to meet Kayla. As with a lot of the cats that show up, Kayla
was nervous and uncertain about trusting humans. She had a little tummy on her and may have
been pregnant. This little cat with the big eyes was very hungry and it wasn’t long before the
volunteer could approach her and pet her. Kayla would hiss, but then rub against her legs, wanting
to trust but the other humans in her life had let her down. It didn’t take long after that to confirm
Kayla was in nursing mode but where were the babies? Eventually Kayla, knowing she could trust
this new person (and the dependable food source for her babies), brought four kittens to the
feeding station. Everyone was rescued and brought to Pet Patrol where they are safe & warm!
Personality:
Kayla is a funny little cat with a gorgeous classic tabby coat, featuring wide, rich stripes that
swirl beautifully along her sides. Her stunning markings perfectly complement her unique and
endearing personality. For a long time, Kayla kept her distance from people, unsure about human
touch—but then she discovered the magic of Churu cat treats, and everything changed. Now, this
sweet girl will come up for attention, cautiously but curiously, showing just how far she’s come.
Kayla is wonderful with other cats and has a playful spirit that shines through when she feels safe
and comfortable. While she still prefers a quiet environment, she’s learning to enjoy gentle pets and
human companionship, proving that love and patience can work wonders. Having never lived in a
real home before, Kayla is ready to explore this new chapter of her life and will thrive with a family
that understands she might need a little time to settle in. With her beauty, charm, and blossoming
trust, Kayla is ready to be adopted into her forever home—one that will welcome her into the family,
celebrate her playful quirks, and keep her safely indoors where she belongs.
