Rescue:

Monet’s journey to safety is one of quiet resilience. This petite torti appeared on a rural farm 1.5
hours north of the sanctuary, looking very skinny and hungry. The first thing you noticed was how
desperately thin she was and they could count every vertebrate and rib. She kept her distance from
the family’s other cats but lingered nearby, gradually becoming accustomed to being fed outside.
Over time, Monet began to show signs of trust, coming closer to the kind people who cared for her.
While still timid, she ventured closer every day and even responded to the gentle voices of her
rescuers. Living in the family’s shop, she slowly adjusted to being near humans but was only ever
touched once. Understanding that Monet needed a secure environment to truly flourish, her rescuers
reached out to Pet Patrol for help. Now safe in our care, Monet is beginning her transformation and
is ready to find a loving, patient home where she can reach her full potential.

Personality:

Monet started off as a bit hesitant, unsure of the love and affection being offered to her. But with
time and patience, she has truly blossomed. Now, she eagerly pushes her head into your hand for
pets, leans into full body massages, and even enjoys belly rubs—something she never knew she
would love. Having never experienced this kind of care before, she now soaks up every bit of
attention without hesitation. While she isn’t the most comfortable being picked up, Monet is still very
receptive to cuddles and enjoys being close to people. She is great with other cats and can often
be found lounging with her feline friends, whether curled up on a cozy windowsill, napping on the
bed, or simply enjoying their company. While she is still in the process of discovering toys, she has
shown us how happy and accepting she is of indoor life. Monet is ready to be adopted into her
forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
