Rescue:

A mother cat and her four kittens had been frequenting a few backyards where university
students reside. It didn’t take long for the mother to be rescued as she was very hungry. By
now the kittens started to roam as they were becoming more independent and curious. This
was concerning because of the amount of traffic, lack of food and safety for them. A second
student reported the kittens and this new location was further up the street in an apartment
building parking lot. The kittens spent their days sleeping under cars and would scramble
when anyone came too close. There were cars pulling in and out of the lot all the time and it
was urgent to rescue them asap. One of our dedicated volunteers set up a humane trap – then
she camped out in her car to wait and it took all day to catch three of the kittens. The last kitten
had to be left for the night as it was midnight and there was no sign of her. The three rescued
little ones were kept safely in her bathroom over night but our volunteer had little sleep and was
back at the parking lot in the wee hours of the morning, The lot was quiet and it was the perfect time to bring the baby into safely. Fifteen hours later and all four kittens were headed to
the sanctuary and onto a much better life.

Personality:

Rosemary will greet you at the door with a little mew and will start to purr the minute you touch
her. Very responsive to affection and really likes to be with her people. She is quite active
and romps around after the plastic springs that bounce across the room, wand toys with little
toy mouse attached to the end of the string and even balls with bells. She is quite attached to
her sister Raspberry who is a little quieter than her, but just as playful and affectionate. They
love their kitty tree, especially if you drape a towel over it so they can pretend they are in a tent
and will eventually pull it off and curl up for a well deserved nap. Both these pretty girls are
ready for adoption into their forever home together. One that will welcome them into the family
and keep them safely indoors.
