Rescue:

We are not really sure where August’s mother cat Ariel came from initially but she ended
up being in the care of people who should not have pets. Simply, they could not take care
of themselves and were living off other people. It was through the grapevine of supporters
for Pet Patrol that we heard about the cats that now numbered nine felines, and at any
time another litter could be born. The woman who had taken in this couple was family and
felt she should help them. But with nine cats and having severe allergies, they were banished to the garage. Often the side door was left open and the cats started to roam the
neighbourhood, much to the displeasure of the avid gardeners nearby. Something had to
be done. Our volunteers arrived and Ariel, her two youngest kittens, and three teens came
into our care. The other four had already been given to unknown people but the offer for
them to come to Pet Patrol was expressed.

Personality:

August is a very sweet and affectionate boy. He has grown up with his brothers and sisters,
allowing for him to get along well with other kitties. He soaks up the love from his caregiver
and getting pets and snuggles from them creates a beautiful purr. August is very patient
and gentle. He likes to observe, especially from a high vantage point like a shelf or the cat
tree. When he is feeling more frisky, he enjoys playing with dangly wand toys and chasing
springs across the house. He would do great in a variety of homes – so long as they have
the time to show him the love and affection he deserves every day. August is ready to be
adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him
safely indoors.
