Rescue:

Shamus is a tall and long cat who appeared in late November in the back yard of one of our
volunteers, located near a tourist market place. He came at all hours of the night heading
straight for her feline feeding station for food and water which was left out for him. She had it
prepared to support any critter that arrived in the dead of winter with heated dishes and an
enclosed cat house. After watching him come in the snow and freezing rain, it was obvious he
didn’t have a warm, dry place to be and he needed to come in from the cold. Luckily, before a
humane trap could be set up, Shamus ran into a neighbour’s house, being so desperate for
warmth and safety. He was easily secured and it was a lot easier for those involved to rescue
him. The neighbour called the woman who was feeding him, and she went over and picked up
Shamus, who cuddled right into her arms. Shamus is now warm and safe from predators and
the cold in Pet patrol care.

Personality:

This tall and long boy is very comfortable when being held and carried around by people. He
is content to be in your arms and will snuggle in at bedtime or during movie time. He has
settled in with the other cats in the sanctuary without incident and seems to be quite interested
in the activates, toys and climbers provided for them in the playroom. Shamus is very grateful
to be indoors and shows his appreciation with deep purrs and kneading paws. He is ready to
be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him
safely indoors.
