Rescue:

A Pet Patrol volunteer lives in a small village surrounded by farms and often stray cats show up
at her feeding station. With Oonah, neighbours had noticed her hanging around their yard and
soon she had brought a kitten with her. The volunteer asked them to feed her and try to pet the
kitten so it could be socialized and be more comfortable being rescued. Within weeks the
kitten was brought into our care and shortly after that Oonah came to our volunteer’s feeding
station. She was nervous but hung around the yard, not venturing far. There were a few male
cats around, so rescuing her before another pregnancy was important. Now winter is upon us,
it’s getting colder and Oonah is wanting to go in the house, so we think she knows about being
inside – so sad! It wasn’t long before she started to rub against the volunteer’s legs and
seemed to like being pet ,but still didn’t trust people completely. Interestingly enough it was
very easy to rescue this pretty kitty. She was ready and didn’t want to endure another winter
outside.

Personality:

Oonah has not been with Pet Patrol for very long and her personality is starting to come
through nicely. She is a petite and fluffy girl who is looking for an adult home that is calm and
gentle. She likes to be pet and brushed, have her chin scratched and she will purr gently when
pet. It has taken time for her to understand toys and what they are all about, preferring to
watch the antics of the other cats in the sanctuary for now. In a quieter environment she will
blossom and be very good company. Oonah has a beautiful fluffy black coat and a very sweet
face. She is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the
family and keep her safely indoors.
