Rescue:
Just down the road from the Pet Patrol sanctuary, before the bridge is a laneway leading to
three different farms. Our volunteer has driven this road a few times to pick up kittens or
young cats that the owners no longer want. The lane is lined with trees and it is a beautiful
drive to an isolated farm with a brand new barn built not far from the house. On this day the
weather was very cold and wet, the air in the barn was chilled and you could see the horse’s
breath when they snorted. Inside a wire cage was little Pandora and her two kittens. We had
met this pretty momma cat in the spring and rescued her five fluffy kittens, but they would not
let us have Pandora at that time. This time as our volunteer left with the kittens, they stopped
her and asked if we would take the mom too and soon all were in our care at the sanctuary.
Pandora was very happy to have a warm and safe place for herself and her kittens.
Personality:
Pandora is a sweet girl who likes to sit back and survey her surroundings, taking in everything
and joining in when she likes. When you scratch under her chin she doesn’t want you to stop,
quickly purring and loving the attention. As she is no longer concerned about the safety and
well being of her kittens as they are adopted, she is now starting to play with toys and has
found joy in batting at balls and chasing after them around the room. She loves the cat scratch
post and will stretch up high showing you how tall she is. Pandora has become very comfortable with the indoor life which is clean, warm, comfortable and she has no worries. She has
gone from a desolate life to one of luxury and appreciates it all. This pretty and petite girl is
ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep
her safely indoors.
