Rescue:

A woman who has rescued a number of cats from her area, about 45 minutes from the
sanctuary, told Pet Patrol about a couple in their early sixties who needed to rehome some of
their cats. Although their house looks tidy from outside, upon entering it she found definite
signs of hoarding: the house was crowded with furniture and objects, with narrow pathways
between, and every surface had something on it. There was a strong pungent smell
everywhere, and about thirty cats and kittens, including Genie who was very pregnant at the
time. There were empty cat food and water dishes around the house, evidence that the cats
were not being fed regularly. The couple is living on an extremely limited income and were not
buying cat food or cleaning up after the cats. The rescuer left bags of food to help, but knew
that the cats needed to be taken out of the situation. She drove through a blizzard to bring
Genie and her sister Goldie safely to the sanctuary. Soon afterwards Genie had her five
kittens, Gabbi and Gaxton being two of them.

Personality:

Gabbi and Gaxton are a bonded sister and brother, who would love to go to a home together.
They are always playing or chasing each other through the cat tunnel and up the climber and
when tuckered out curl up in a kitty bed, laying across each other for nap time. Gabbi will carry
a toy mouse around by its tail or play with the crinkly toy balls. Gaxton runs around the room,
touching every toy as he passes it. He can’t decide which one he wants to play with first. Both
kittens are part of the WWF (World Wrestling Felines) and Gabbi has no fear in pinning down
her brother. Both Gabbi and Gaxton are ready to be adopted into their forever home together.
One that will welcome them into the family and keep them safely indoors.
