Rescue:
It’s a sad story for Cartman who’s life started out perfectly. He was adopted as a tiny kitten by a
young woman, and adored completely. She and her partner had raised him to be a happy,
healthy and affectionate boy. He’s kind hearted and gentle. Unfortunately, her grandmother
passed away and as part of her duty as a family member she took in the dog and cat. Things
seem to be fine and the pets were learning to integrate with each other, but when she became
pregnant the dog suddenly became very protective of her. Grandma’s cat was used to the dog
and was adjusting to the personality change and knew how to work around him. However,
Cartman did not. He was being bullied and chased away from his owner aggressively by the dog.
He would hide and scurry around nervously, which was changing his easy-going, calm and loving
personality. He was scared all the time, bullied all the time and it was not fair to him. With a very
heavy heart and a lot of tears. She relinquish custody of Cartman to Pet Patrol where he has
adjusted extremely well.
Personality:
Cartmen is described as a very nice cat, friendly and affectionate. He easily adjusts to a new
environment as he is interested in all that you do and greets new people at the door. He will do
well as an only cat as that was how he was initially raised, but may do ok with one other very
passive kitty with a slow introduction. He likes his toys, he loves basking in the sun as it streams
through the window and watching the activities outside. Definitely is a fan of the cat tree at the
sanctuary. Cartman’s previous owner said “I’m worried about his safety every day. He deserves a
good home where he can walk freely and not be chased into hiding.” Cartman is ready to be
adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family to keep him safely
indoors
