Rescue:
When a man called Pet Patrol about happy go lucky Roxy, it wasn’t the first cat that he had
rescued and brought into our care. A few summers ago he and his wife started feeding a
pretty cat who took up refuge under their deck, at their cottage on the lake. Eventually that cat
presented them with kittens and soon all were rescued and brought into Pet Patrol care. Fast
forward to the beginning of this school year and a black kitten arrived at their back door. This
was Roxy. She was super friendly and although a little skittish to start with (due to her living
outside) she soon warmed up and showed her affectionate side. They allowed her into the
cottage and she soon was up on their lap and having the luxury of sleeping on the couch and
having plenty of food available for her. Not wanting to take her home to their pets, she was
left at the cottage, inside, and daily they drove back and forth to feed her and let her outside to
roam. Encouraged to bring her in as soon as possible to Pet Patrol, so that she did not become prey, she was soon in our care. Roxy has made herself at home.
Personality:
Roxy is a friendly little cat who is interested in what you are doing, what new toy is there to play
with and what is going on outside. She was free roaming before, but has adjusted to being
strictly indoors, although watching out the window is still a favorite past time. Easy to pick up
and hold in your arms she purrs deeply and is happy to sit on your lap for movies or at bedtime. Roxy is good with other cats and although we don’t know her exposure to dogs, she
would probably do ok with a passive canine. Roxy is ready to be adopted into her forever
home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
