Rescue:
Frankie appeared on a volunteer’s camera in early September, as he was going between her
house and her neighbours every night. He would sleep on the woman’s deck as it was a safe
distance from some outdoor cats that are allowed to roam the nearby park. The woman
started feeding him and asked our experienced volunteer how to coax him indoors as he
seemed friendly but frightened. With some tempting food, patience and trickery, he was soon
inside her home. She housed him in a comfortable basement room until Pet Patrol could take
him in. The night before he was to come in, Frankie got up into their basement ceiling and
hunkered down. The rescue was just a bit much for him and he needed to take it all in. With a
humane trap and smelly food he was once again rescued and brought into a different room to
keep safe and this time it was decided to take him to Pet Patrol right away.
Personality:
Frankie has come out of his shell here in the sanctuary and we feel that it would be nice for
him to be adopted into a less cat-populated home. Although he gets along with other cats,
there’s just too many for him here to receive the attention that he would like. He’s pretty famous for rubbing up against your legs, and as a good sized, healthy boy you definitely know
he is there. He likes his toys, he likes watching the birds and squirrels outside the window, and
basking in the sun like most cats do. He also likes to have a little cubby where he can find
privacy and have a nice sound sleep. Frankie is ready to be adopted into an adult-only, devoted home who will help him feel loved and have a sense of permanence. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
