Rescue:

A woman left a message on the Pet Patrol line which we quickly responded to. She said “I
witnessed someone dumping their cat out the window of a moving car! I was driving along a
road behind them, and before I knew it some thing was tossed out the window. At first I thought
it was a bag of garbage, and was rather disgusted by the thought of that, however something
in my mind said stop and go back to the ditch. There I saw this sweet, if not bewildered little
cat looking at me through the long grass. I called to her and she came quickly over. What a
sweet cat! Not knowing much about felines I called a friend of mine, and she met me there
with her carrier. I wanted to make sure that the kitty was transported safely back to my home.
We have a large dog at home who is not very happy with kitties and my husband is highly
allergic, but we will look after her until you can take her.” When Kalina arrived that evening at
the sanctuary we noticed that she had not sustained any injuries, because luckily she had the
grassy ditch to land in. She ate ravenously for the next three days and settled right in, grateful
for being rescued.

Personality:

Kalina – what a doll. Regardless of her most recent hardships she is positive, loving and
adorable. She is one of the most affectionate cats, always purring and seeks out her people
for scratches and pets. She is quite a talker, chirping when she spots you and at night, she
curls into you or stretched out on the pillow beside you. She is not taken with a lot of cat toys
but she does like pouncing on things moving under blankets. Kalina is deserving of a loving
indoor only home where she will be cherished and loved.
