Rescue:
An older couple out in the country contacted Pet Patrol regarding a sweet cat that came walking out
of a giant field of sunflowers. They were concerned that this kind kitty would not survive the winter,
as the nights had already been wet, cold, and quite breezy. The couple had great nieces over, and
they were able to charm the appropriately nicknamed Sunflower into approaching. She proved to
be incredibly friendly, not just with the children, but also with the family’s older dog (an 11yearold
lab). She wasn’t able to stay inside, so it only made sense for Pet Patrol to come bring her to the
sanctuary, along with some of her kitty friends that followed her out of the field!
Personality:
Sunflower is friendly and affectionate. She is happy to interact with people of all ages, and she’s
one of the first kitties to greet visitors that come to the sanctuary. She is easy to pick up and enjoys
getting lots of pets. Being indoors has proven to suit her just fine, as Sunflower loves all of the soft
beds to sleep in and toys to play with. She also is quite the explorer, fearlessly finding all the most
interesting places in the cat enclosure. Looking out the window at the birds, squirrels, and cars is
one of her favourite activities. This sweetheart is ready for her forever home. One that will welcome
her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
