Rescue:
A family living across the road from a farm contacted Pet Patrol after spotting three young cats
nearby. The farm home neighboured a gravel pit and a beef cattle barn. This kind of environment is
dangerous for cats of any age, and it’s especially life threatening for little kittens who haven’t
developed many survival skills! Fearing the kitties would be trampled, they were rescued and
brought to Pet Patrol’s sanctuary. Volunteers quickly realized the sweet faced trio (Avia, Alonzo,
and Adell) were older than they thought they were roughly six months old. But that worked out just
fine, as they appeared healthy and had excellent temperaments. It was obvious they had been
handled by people in some capacity, they didn’t mind being pick up, cuddled, or carried around. It
took no time here at the sanctuary for them to make themselves very much at home.
Personality:
Alonzo is quite the happy boy. He fits right in with the other cats around him, young or old. Just
being able to try new things while indoors has been so much fun for him. He’s very friendly and
enjoys greeting volunteers who come to visit. He also likes learning about the different types of toys
kitties get to play with! We think he’d say all toys are equally good choices. Just like his sisters, he’s
a window seat kind of guy, contentedly watching the outside world without worrying about having to
be out there himself! Alonzo is ready to be adopted into him forever home, hopefully with a sibling or
playmate. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
