Rescue:

A man and his wife who live in a small village had contacted Pet Patrol a year ago about a
lovely orange cat who they rescued and brought into our care. Now they called again and they
have a few cats who come around their home that they feed. The couple provided shelter
for them, but did not provide any vet care or spaying or neutering. As would happen the
male cats would wander, and because they were not neutered there would be some tussles for territory, and the female cats would become pregnant. A small colony of about a
dozen cats was quickly created and out of control. Billy was part of this group and seemed
to be the scapegoat and picked on all the time. When he came into our care, he was
relived that his reception by the other cats was welcoming and he soon made himself
comfortable

Personality:

Billy is best suited as a hobby farm cat. If he had been handled by the couple when he
was a kitten, he would have become family friendly and easy to find a new home for. However, this did not happen and he has remained apprehensive of people, commotion and
not interested in being pet or picked up. He has been no trouble to care for, he is not
aggressive in any way, and gets along great with the other cats in the sanctuary, but people
are just not his thing. We hope to find a hobby farm setting for him where he will be
treated like a pet and watched over, but not have too many expectations of him. He would
make a great mouser though. Billy is ready to be adopted into a hobby farm environment.
One that will welcome him and keep him a safe as they can.
