Rescue:

There was a colony of cats found behind a manufacturing building in town. The colony had been
cared for by the staff, who fed them daily and even provided insulated cat houses for them. The
nice thing was that they were all friendly, but the sad thing was the colony was growing. A company
memo was sent out, saying that they had consulted with the city shelter who said to stop feeding
the cats. That is sad and wrong. Rescuing them is the answer. Coyotes were also running through
the area often and sometimes within ten feet of nearby humans. They definitely caused many of the
cats to disappear. The colony cats names all start with the letter K, and this includes Kiki. Pet Patrol
volunteers and the woman who was feeding the cats were braved the elements daily to ensure this
colony was looked after and brought into care.

Personality:

Kiki is a super soft, sweet hearted cat who’s quickly discovering just how much she loves affection!
With her gentle meow, she’s found her voice—especially when she’s ready for her scheduled treats
or some quality attention. Kiki has an adorable habit of giving little licks as she’s being petted, and
when the pets are just right, she might even drool a little (like a true lady, of course). While Kiki is
growing more comfortable with being picked up and held, she still enjoys having a cozy hiding spot
for her “me time.” She’s a fan of “cat TV” and can often be found batting around springs and balls in
playful contentment. Kiki does best with calm companion cats; she’s a bit timid and will back down
if another cat gets too sassy, though she and her buddy Casia are getting along well. When one is
receiving pets, the other usually appears with a gentle “my turn” nudge. Kiki would thrive in a loving,
relaxed home where she can enjoy her treats, gentle play, and a quiet place to relax. She’s ready to
bring her gentle charm to a forever family who will keep her safely indoors.
