Rescue:

Poor Hobbs was found at a large Feed Mill in the downtown area of a rural town. Because of the feed, and people supplying food for the cats, there is a large feral colony that also includes abandoned, frightened/friendly cats. One woman in town has taken it upon herself to feed the cats every day. She is unable to work but makes use of her time by helping the cats. She gets up every morning and walks the many blocks, with food in hand, to the Mill. She has arranged with the employees to supply fresh water to them and she also tries to tame them. Those that are friendly come to Pet Patrol for adoption. She had noticed Hobbs limping for a couple months and, knowing he would not be easy to put in a carrier, she really concentrated on taming him. We are unsure how he became lame in his back leg, but once rescued he was immediately taken to the vet that Pet Patrol uses for xrays and evaluation. Nothing broken, but probably ligament damage, which will heal with time and patience.

Personality:

Hobbs has shown us what a sweet cat he is. He is gentle and loving, so appreciative of the help he has received through our volunteers and vet care. He is good with other cats and has made himself at home in the sanctuary. He is used to living with a variety of cats and their different personalities and is liking the attention from them and the people who come in to visit. Hobbs likes to be pet and will push his head into your hand, rubs up against your leg for attention and is quite happy to lay beside you on the couch or bed. He is a dear little cat. Hobbs is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
